Microsoft is giving Windows 10 S users more time to make the free transition to Windows 10 Pro. The free upgrade period is now coming to a close on March 31 of next year, three months after the previously announced end date. Windows 10 S devices are pretty limited compared to those running a normal version of the OS.

Unlike Windows 10 and Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 S doesn’t let people install apps from anywhere other than the Windows Store. A lot of software therefore can’t be used. However, Microsoft’s greater control over the operating system does lead to improved performance.
