If you’ve ever been stuck in traffic and surrounded by smog-generating vehicles, Uber would like you to know there’s a better way, at least if you live in Mexico. Beginning a few months ago, the company sent out drones and small signs to advertise UberPool to people stuck in traffic around Mexico City.

Among the signs are ones that read, “The city would be for you, not 5.5 million cars,” and “Driving by yourself? This is why you can never see the volcanoes.”

Those ads were exclusive to Mexico, says Uber. Given the regulations that exist elsewhere, such as in the US, Uber would have a hard time flying drones in this way in other locations.

Even if the ads only ever appear in Mexico City, they make a bit of sense. While they could be annoying, they do get the point across (e.g. you could benefit from not driving your own car) and the drivers cannot escape seeing them.
