When Google announced Android Wear 2.0, the biggest change new platform brought was support for standalone apps. The same support was missing for older Android Wear versions, where applications were distributed from the smartphone to the watch.
The good news is that Google will change this. The search giant has updated the terms of its Play Store policy, encouraging developers to work towards bringing the apps to Android Wear 1.0. Those apps that combine Wear and a mobile app will no longer have the “Enhanced for Android Wear” tag.
