As hinted by Sony’s IFA press invite, the Japanese tech giant has multiple new smartphones in store for us at its IFA press conference next month. While the Xperia XR has been leaked already, its smaller sibling too had been leaked online today. The device will apparently be dubbed the Xperia X Compact and will succeed the Xperia Z5 Compact from 2015.
The “mini flagship” will apparently feature a 4.6” sized display, although there is no word yet on the resolution. Under the hood, Xperia X Compact will be powered by the same Snapdragon 820 chipset as the upcoming Xperia XR and the current Xperia X Performance. Rest of the leaked specs include a 2700mAh capacity battery and a USB Type-C port.
Both the Xperia XR and the Xperia X Compact are expected to be announced on September 1 at IFA in Berlin.
