Sony has finally attached a name and release date to its Xperia projector. The device was introduced during last year’s MWC, but few details about it were initially revealed. Now, Sony says the “Xperia Touch” will be released in the spring for €1,599 in Europe.
It offers some projector, speaker, and Android tablet features. Overall, it probably doesn’t offer nearly enough to interest most people.
The resolution of 1366 x 768 is fine in some cases, though not ideal when projecting at 80-inches, which is the max for the Xperia Touch.
Google Assistant voice commands are supported and the product has a 13-megapixel camera. It can project onto walls and tables, enabling app and game experiences, albeit ones that are limited compared to just using a phone or tablet.
