Around 100 million transactions have been processed by Samsung Pay since its launch last year. Those transactions have a combined value of $1.78 billion and they have come from seven countries. Apple Pay is far ahead of Samsung’s mobile payment service, but Samsung Pay is widely used.
“Since its introduction a year ago, Samsung Pay continues to lead mobile payments by providing services that are simple, secure and virtually anywhere. Our ambition to reach a world without wallets continues to draw ever closer, and this strong consumer adoption signals a shift in behavior and demonstrates the continued enthusiasm for a safer, smarter and better mobile wallet.”

Samsung will expand Pay’s availability this month and it will also continue to add more banks to the service. It is primarily competing with Apple Pay and Android Pay.
