Samsung recently acquired audio company Harman in a deal worth $8 billion, hinted at possible audio capabilities in Samsung’s mobile portfolio. Speaking to press, Samsung’s head of automotive confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy S smartphones won’t adopt Harman’s high-end audio technology.

During the press conference, he also said that if they ramp up efforts for business synergies and use Harman’s audio technology, the first Galaxy S series smartphone with the Harman audio would come in 2018. The company also clarified that they have no interest in making cars, but only to develop solutions for connected cars.
