In the PC-based virtual reality market, the HTC Vive is doing better than the Oculus Rift. According to SuperData Research, the Vive had 95,000 sales during the first quarter, compared to 64,000 for the Rift.

Mobile and console virtual reality systems are outperforming both. During Q1, the top VR system was the Gear VR, which saw an estimated 782,000 sales.

The PlayStation VR had 375,000 and the Google Daydream had 170,000.

Since PC-based VR products require more expensive systems and the headsets cost more themselves, it makes sense that mobile/console devices are leading the way.
