The iPhone may receive wireless charging next year with the help of a new all-glass casing. KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports a wireless charging system will be included in next year’s lineup and it’ll be supplied exclusively by Pegatron. It’s not clear if the phone will be called the iPhone 7s or iPhone 8.
Using more metal on a handset can make wireless charging more difficult, which has apparently been a driving force behind Apple’s switch to a glass design. It’s also been reported that Apple’s design team likes the appearance of an all-glass phone.
