Compared to Black Ops 3 (2015), physical sales of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare are down significantly in the United States. A report from NPD Group reveals the game missed early expectations by 17% and physical sales were down 51% year-over-year in November.

A similar decline in sales between Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare has been recorded in the UK.

It was projected digital sales would be up this year, so the decline is likely to have been somewhat counteracted. We’ll fully understand how Infinite Warfare compares to its predecessor when all of the sales data is considered.

Activision believed sales would be down relative to Black Ops 3 partly due to the Black Ops series having more name recognition. However, this kind of decline wasn’t projected by most analysts.
