Apple will add some functionality to its 2018 MacBooks by including e-ink technology in their keyboards, reports The Wall Street Journal. E-ink keyboards will reportedly become “standard” for the MacBook line and they’ll be able to display letters, emoji, and various special commands.

Recently, it was reported Apple was speaking with Sonder Design about using its “dynamic” e-ink keyboard technology beginning in 2018. Sonder is supported by Foxconn, one of Apple’s main suppliers.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is said to have met with Sonder in China last week about employing its keyboard tech.
